What can we do to stand up?

Not only does sexual abuse cause trauma for victims, it often causes pain within an entire community. In order to heal, we must begin a conversation the right way and by asking the right questions:

  • What are healthy ways to discuss sexual abuse while avoiding backbiting and blame?
  • Are we allowed to feel outraged?
  • What can the community do to create a system of checks and balances on authority?
  • How can we move forward and stop future exploitation?

Join MWA, Khalil Center and MCC Adult Education for an open townhall discussion to learn what you can do to stand up against sexual abuse in the Muslim community!
