 e cause trauma for victims\, it often causes pain within an entire communi
 ty. In order to heal\, we must begin a conversation the right way and by a
 sking the right questions:\n\n	What are healthy ways to discuss sexual abu
 se while avoiding backbiting and blame?\n	Are we allowed to feel outraged?
 \n	What can the community do to create a system of checks and balances on 
 authority?\n	How can we move forward and stop future exploitation?\n\nJoin
  MWA\, Khalil Center and MCC Adult Education for an open townhall discussi
 on to learn what you can do to stand up against sexual abuse in the Muslim
  community!\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nPanel of Speakers\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nDr. Sarah Syed 
 works as a post-doctoral Clinical Psychologist at Khalil Center. She has a
 n interest in the mental health needs of Muslims and Muslim families. Her 
 doctoral dissertation was titled\, "Attitudes Among Muslim Americans towar
 d Psychotherapy."\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nUstadh Ubaydullah Evans instructs through
  Ta'leef Collective and the Inner-City Muslim Action Network (IMAN)\, in a
 ddition to his position as scholar-in-residence at the American Learning I
 nstitute for Muslims (ALIM). He has studied at Chicagoland's Institute of 
 Islamic Education (IIE)\, in Tarim\, Yemen\, and Al-Azhar University in Ca
 iro\, Egypt.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nShaykh Hamzah Maqbul studied traditional Islam
 ic studies in countries across the world\, including Syria\, Egypt\, Mauri
 tania\, the UAE\, and Pakistan. He has taught as a resident scholar at the
  Thawr Institute and at Darul Qasim. He is currently the Imam with the Mus
 lim Association of Greater Rockford and serves on the Board of Directors a
 t Khalil Center.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n&nbsp\
