Youtube Launches Arabic Version
Youtube, the video sharing website owned by Google, has launched an Arabic version of the popular Internet portal, it was reported on Monday.
Google has launched a number of new versions, including those in Arabic, Slovenian, Ukrainian and Vietnamese, the Internet conglomerate confirmed to The National newspaper on Monday.
“We are always looking for ways to improve the online video experience for our incredibly diverse global community,” Google said.
“By offering the YouTube site in Arabic we both acknowledge and celebrate our global roots while enabling a new group of people to engage with YouTube videos and enjoy our platform in their language,” it added.
Last year, telecom executives told an Arab Advisors conference in Jordan that the popular video website accounted for around 40 percent of Internet traffic in the Arab world.
