Rev. Wendell Anthony to Keynote AAPAC Banquet on Friday
Reverend Wendell Anthony, President of the Detroit Branch NAACP and pastor of Fellowship Chapel in Detroit, will keynote the Eleventh Annual Dinner of the Arab American Political Action Committee (AAPAC) on Friday, October 24, 2008 at the Bint Jebail Cultural Center in Dearborn, Michigan. The event begins at 6:30 p.m.
“As we head down the home stretch of this most historic election,” said AAPAC President Osama Siblani, “I can think of no one better able to tie the dreams of our communities together than Rev. Anthony, whose personal and organizational goals epitomize the struggle for equal rights in this country.”
AAPAC will release its slate of endorsed candidates at the dinner and unveil its political literature for the 2008 election. The group will present its annual Public Service Award to two outstanding public servants, State House Speaker Andy Dillon (D), and Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard (R). AAPAC will also honor two community activists at the dinner.
The Arab American Political Action Committee was founded in 1998 by a group of Arab American professionals to organize and encourage the political activities of Arab Americans.
The annual dinner is the largest political gathering of Arab Americans in Michigan.
