Dear Ms. Lauryn Hill,We urge you to respect the Palestinian call to boycott Israel until it ends its oppression of the Palestinian people and cancel your upcoming performance.By playing in Israel, you will be sending the message to your fans that there is nothing wrong with occupation, apartheid, and ethnic cleansing. In fact the presence of artists like yourself is used routinely by Israel to legitimize its violations of international law and whitewash its denial of Palestinian rights. Just as during the struggle against apartheid in South Africa artists were expected not to cross the picket line and perform in Sun City, artists today are asked to heed the Palestinian call and not lend their name to cover up Israel’s war crimes.

Ms. Lauryn, please don’t take your eyes off of justice. Cancel your performance and stand on the right side of history.
