National Arab Orchestra Performs 3rd Annual Gala in Detroit on Saturday, May 31st
On Saturday evening May 31, 2014, the National Arab Orchestra (NAO) will hold its 3rd Annual Gala at the Detroit Music Hall for the Performing Arts, 350 Madison St., Detroit, Michigan, 48226.
Formerly known as the Michigan Arab Orchestra, the evening’s concert will showcase some of the finest music the Arab world has to offer, as well as some newly composed works performed by the NAO’s critically acclaimed orchestra featuring vocalists: Aboud Agha, Usama Baalbaki, and Ghada Derbas.
They will perform pieces from the classical repertoire of legendary Arab vocalists such as Laura Dekach, Suad Mohamed, and Fairuz.” said Michael Ibrahim, Conductor and Artisitc Director of the NAO, he went on to say, “Legendary composers such as Mohamed Fawzi, will be featured and my newest composition, “Habibe Rah” will premiere that evening.”
The evening’s gala event will also feature students from the Woodward Academy as part of the NAO’s “Building Bridges Through Music Program”, made possible by a grant awarded from the Knight Foundation.
