His Highness Sheikh Khaled Bin Ahmed al Khalifa, the Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain is among the distinguished guests attending the 3rd U.S.-Arab Economic Forum in Washington D.C.

U.S.-Bahraini relations serve as a model of Arab cooperation, promoting and enhancing trade and diplomacy with the American Community.

The Kingdom of Bahrain has been as vital supporter of the U.S.-Arab Economic Forum. During 2003 U.S.-Arab Economic Forum in Detroit, Michigan, Crown Prince Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defense Force, spoke on the need to build strong commercial bonds, which would serve as the stage to advance the cause of mutual diplomacy.

“Bahrain has been a strong partner with the U.S. in the Middle East. As an advocate of Arab diplomacy, Bahrain and the U.S. are working on many issues to enhance political and economic relations, including educating the U.S. public to the cultural riches present in the Arab world,” said Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of the Forum, Mr. Nasser Beydoun.

Mr. Beydoun went on to say, “It is my deep gratitude that H.H. Sheikh al Khalifa will be attending the U.S.-Arab Economic Forum. Bahrain plays a vital role in expanding Arab and Middle Eastern diplomacy in America, and H.H. Sheikh al Khalifa has been outspoken on the need to advance Arab interests throughout the Western world.”

Collaborative projects between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the U.S. demonstrate shared teamwork and understanding between the two countries. U.S.-Bahraini economic relations stem from the current Free Trade Agreement which was signed by the two countries on August 1, 2006.

Mr. Ahmad Chebbani, the Chairman and CEO of the Forum stressed the importance of mutual cooperation, stating that political leaders must convene through dialogue rather than force to build peace and global security. He went onto say that Bahrain’s support to the Forum has been critical to the success of building Arab diplomacy and understanding.

“This is an opportunity where political leaders can cooperate through the medium of dialogue. Previous leaders from Bahrain have urged the need for both our worlds, the Arab world and the U.S. to cultivate a better understanding of one another, and to progress on the issues of concern to the entire global community,” said Mr. Chebbani.
