Jubail to launch craft and heritage festival

The Royal Commission for Jubail (RCJ) launches a heritage and craft festival here from March 15 to 31 at Al-Fanateer waterfront.
The event is being held under the auspices of Eastern Province Gov. Prince Saud bin Naif. It includes the second mass wedding to be held at Jubail Industrial City.
Abdullah bin Ibrahim Al-Muhammadi, director of the RCJ’s social services department and general supervisor of the festival, said the event supports citizens producing traditional crafts and food by giving them a location to market and sell their products.
Al-Muhammadi said 250 families are participating in the festival without paying any fees. In addition, government agencies and charities are supporting them, small projects and artisans, he said.
It would be open on a daily basis, with three days set aside for young people and several educational activities on offer, he said. This year’s festival hosts the Names of Allah exhibition and a studio at the Knowledge Village for children.
