Iraqi Minister Touts Investment Potential in Michigan
The Chairman of Iraq’s National Investment Commission wants Michigan companies to do business in Iraq.
Sami Al-Araji says Michigan’s economy could get a boost if its companies provide Iraqis with much-needed technical and administrative expertise.
The American Arab Chamber of Commerce hosted Al-Araji and an Iraqi ministerial delegation in Dearborn Wednesdday.
Fey Beydoun is head of the American Arab Chamber of Commerce, which hosted Al-Araji in Dearborn.
“One of the Chamber’s goals for these coming years is to help in increasing the number of exports that go from the state of Michigan to the Middle East,” says Beydoun. “And Iraq has one of the biggest markets that currently exists in the Middle East.”
Beydoun says the Chamber wants to boost Michigan’s exports to the Middle East by 30%.
