DESCRIPTION:NEW YORK\n\n\n\nThis year marks the 5th year since the conflict
  that began in Syria in 2011. The situation is disastrous—entire towns a
 nd neighborhoods have been demolished or isolated\, and many Syrians have 
 been living in daily destruction. 6.5 million children have been affected 
 by the crisis–more than half of Syrian children are no longer attending 
 school. It’s important that we take any action we can to help our brothe
 rs and sisters in Islam. This isn’t a religious cause\, it’s a humanit
 arian one. I understand that not everyone can afford to make monetary dona
 tions but this clothing drive requires just your time and energy. Please j
 oin us and invite your friends and family members to take part in the caus
 e.\n\nAnas (RA) reported: “The Messenger of Allah said: 'Help your broth
 er\, whether he is an oppressor or is oppressed.' A man asked: 'O Messenge
 r of Allah! I (know how to) help him when he is oppressed\, but how can I 
 help him when he is an oppressor?' He said: 'You can restrain him from com
 mitting oppression. That will be your help to him.'” [Al-Bukhari and Mus
 lim]\n\n\nOn Sunday April 19th we humbly request everyone to please come o
 ut to ICNA Helping Hand Center and help prepare boxes of clothing for Syri
 a. We hope to send the boxes as soon as possible so please spread the word
  and join us for Syrian Relief.\n\n*****All donations must be clean\, gent
 ly used and in good condition. If you wouldn't buy an item in the same con
 dition from a thrift store\, please don’t donate it.\n\n \n\n\n \n
