Why:
Empowerment begins at an early age. At CAIR, we believe that our youth have limitless potential. We understand their importance as leaders, organizers, and instruments of change, and we have made them a priority in all of our work. With your help we can ensure that the civil rights of our youth are protected and that they have the tools, experience, confidence, and knowledge they need to grow into the next generation of leaders.
Improving our youth programs and expanding into future work requires your support.
This includes:
–Funding summer leadership training and professional development sessions for youth in our internship and clerkship programs.
–Expanding our current Bridging Communities and Muslim Youth Leadership programs to make them more affordable and accessible to youth who either live further away from the regions where we host these or struggle to participate due to financial difficulty.
–With your help, in the future, we plan to host a Bay Area iteration of the ground-breaking Muslim Gamechangers Network (MGN) created by our sister office in Los Angeles. This three-month program will provide high school students with social justice training rooted in an Islamic world-view. These programs are part of our efforts to empower youth, and we want to do more of them.
