DESCRIPTION:MARYLAND\n\nPlease join us in “Remembering Al-Nakba.” This 
 event will commemorate Al-Nakba Day (Catastrophe Day) of May 15\, 1948. Th
 is day symbolizes the exodus of the Palestinian people from their land as 
 Zionist militias ethnically cleansed their communities and founded the Sta
 te of Israel\, creating what Badil and the Institute for Middle East Under
 standing calls the largest and longest-standing refugee populations in the

 n-refugees\n\nThis event’s purpose is to shed light on the situation of 
 the Palestinian people today and to educate people about the history of th
 e Palestinian-Israeli conflict.\n\nWe are honored to host Palestinian acti
 vist Abbas Hamideh as our guest speaker. Mr. Hamideh is a cofounder of “
 Al-Awda\, The Palestinian Right to Return Coalition.”\n\nWe are also reg
 istering people for our team (SJP Terps!) at the #Gaza5K walk/run event ho
 sted by @unrwausa. Student registration is $25. All proceeds will fund pro
 grams that provide mental health and trauma services to Palestinian childr
 en in Gaza.\n\nAll registrants receive a COOL Palestine-themed bracelet. D
 onations of $5 or more will also get you a COOL bracelet.\n\nDate: April 2
