DESCRIPTION:DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA\n\nMarch 2015 marks the 4th anniversary of
  the Syria crisis. "Life in Refuge" is a series of powerful exhibits in th
 e heart of Washington DC to shed light on the plight of millions of Syrian
 s impacted by ongoing conflict. The exhibits will be featured on Freedom P
 laza on Friday\, March 27th and Saturday\, March 28th from 10 AM - 6 PM.\n
 \nThe exhibits will highlight powerful narratives\, imagery and illustrati
 ons of the lives of Syrian refugees.\n\nJoin us and stand #withsyria.\n\nE
 XHIBITS INCLUDE:\n\n1. Mothers and Daughters of Syria – Eight sketches b
 y artist Anna Cairns will accompany stories of Syrian women and girls exhi
 biting incredible resilience in the face of adversity. The exhibit will be
  set up in a refugee tent.\n\n2. Dear World Syria – American photographe
 rs Robert Fogarty and Ben Reece gave Syrian refugees in Jordan a voice thr
 ough powerful images of messages they displayed on their bodies for the wo
 rld and global leaders to see. These portraits will be featured\, and even
 t participants can have their own “Dear World” portrait taken in solid
 arity that they stand #WithSyria.\n\n3. Scars and Smiles\, an exhibit by S
 yrian-American Ridwan Adhami\, seeks to bring the faces and personal stori
 es of those hardest hit by tragedy to a wider public\, demonstrating not j
 ust their pain\, but the hope and joy they reveal to the world.\n\nOrganiz
 ed by CARE in partnership with Islamic Relief\, Oxfam\, Save the Children\
 , Syria Relief and Development &amp\; Syrian American Medical Society.\n\n
