This talk will discuss the 2011 Libyan revolution and the many challenges Libya has faced since then.
Amal Suleiman El-Obeidi’s research mainly focuses on security topics in the Mediterranean, gender issues, and public policies. She has published several books including Political Culture in Libya (2013), From Forced Reconciliation to Recognition: The Abu Salim Case in Historical Perspective (2013), and Security Policies in Libya(2004). El-Obeidi currently serves as an Associate Professor of Comparative Politics at the University of Benghazi, which has now closed due to the current conflict in Libya.
