 n\n\nDo you enjoy running or are you interested to start?\n\n\nWant to hel
 p impoverished Palestinian students attend university in the West Bank and
  Gaza Strip?\n\n\nThen Iqraa is for you!\n\n\nSince 2008\, UPA has partner
 ed with the Iqraa running club in the Washington\, DC area to raise over $
 162\,000 for education projects in Palestine. Iqraa\, which means "read" i
 n Arabic\, has trained 129 runners - including beginners - to successfully
  complete the Baltimore Half-Marathon or 5K or the Marine Corps Marathon o
 r 10K.\n\nThis year\, the races will be held on Oct. 17 and Oct. 25\, resp
 ectively. The money they raise will go directly to the UPA Scholarship Pro
 gram\, which helps impoverished students attend universities in the West B
 ank and Gaza Strip.\n\n"I loved running\, but I also wanted to be involved
  in something bigger than myself\," said Jamylah Baruti (pictured). "So of
 ten injustices in the world are met with inaction due to apathy\, fear or 
 judgement. My individual contribution is bringing hope to Palestine by ra
 ising awareness about the need for improved educational opportunities ther
