The PDI
Palestinians under occupation in the West Bank, and under a horrible siege in Gaza, face great difficulties, and have a lot of needs. Chronic diseases, particularlydiabetes, take a toll on their health, their livelihood and their ability to remain steadfast on their land. The magnitude of the problem has been documented in multiple studies and witnessed first hand by medical volunteers over the years.
The Jerusalem Fund for Education and Community Development, in cooperation with several interested parties, launched a campaign to deal with the problem. A plan to have four centers of excellence in the West Bank and Gaza was developed. The main center in Al Bireh has been up and running for several years and the second one in Nablus has also been completed. The current focus is on the third center in the Hebron.
