Essence of Belly Dance is an annual belly dance intensive fusing Cabaret, Tribal Fusion, and world dance styles. The event includes a variety of workshops by some of the most notable dancers in the industry! We tie it all together with an all star gala and raq hard fashion show in an upscale venue! It is truly an experience! Whether you are new to belly dance or an experienced professional, you will walk away with a great foundation to help you improve as a dancer. We hope you can join us!

For 2015, we will have International Oriental Mega Stars Luna of Cairo, Aziza of Cairo, Soraya Zayed and Petite Jamilla, plus Tribal Fusion Icons Jill Parker, Kami Liddle and Tjarda as well as King of the Drum, Issam Houshan! 4 Days of dance, our annual gala and fashion show, and for 2015, we are adding a competition! Cabaret/Oriental, Fusion styles and much more will be represented! More artists and judges to be announced soon!

We have also changed the workshop schedule! Classes will run concurrently (2 classes at the same time)! So you have DOUBLE the classes the choose from!

Thursday 9/17/15 – Full day of workshops and discussion, plus competition choreographies (Oriental Cabaret choreo Thursday morning, Fusion choreo Thursday afternoon. These choreographies will be performed Thursday evening at the Essence Competition Preliminary Round

Friday 9/18/15 – Full day of workshops, plus an All Star Gala and Fashion Show, featuring performances by all instructors and judges, AFBD’s Ra’fiah Dance Company and some of the hottest dancers in the Southeast!

Saturday 9/19/15 – Full day of workshops, and discussion during the day followed by Essence Competition Saturday evening! Finalists from Thursday will perform as well as troupes. There will be an Oriental/Cabaret set, as well as a Fusion/Tribal Fusion set!
