Commemoration of Dr. Naseer Aruri

The Jerusalem Fund mourns last February’s passing of Dr. Naseer Aruri, a former board member and Palestine Center Advisor. We are honored to be holding a commemoration of his life on Thursday, May 14, 2015. Please join us to remember him and his vast contributions to research and scholarship on Palestine.
Friends, colleagues, and family members of Dr. Aruri will be present to offer tributes to him and his accomplishments. The event will take place in The Jerusalem Fund’s offices at 11:30 pm followed by a light lunch and gathering in Dr. Aruri’s honor. Please RSVP by May 8th.
Chancellor Professor of Political Science at the University of Massachusetts in Dartmouth, Professor Aruri was an internationally recognized scholar-activist and expert on Middle East politics, U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East and human rights. He was also a leading advocate in the U.S. on behalf of the rights of the Palestinian people. A former member of the Palestinian National Council, the parliament-in-exile of the Palestinian people, Dr. Aruri was a founding member and twice served as President of the Association of Arab-American University Graduates (AAUG). He lectured and published far and wide in newspapers, magazines and scholarly journals throughout the world and was the author/editor of more than a dozen books, chiefly on the subject of American foreign policy toward the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. His many publications include books Dishonest Broker: the U.S. Role in Israel and Palestine (South End Press 2003), and Palestine and the Palestinians: A Social and Political History (Westview Press) co-authored with his colleague, the late American University (DC) Professor Samih Farsoun.
