 s the founder of If Americans Knew\, a national organization that provides
  information on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict\, and on U.S. foreign pol
 icy regarding the Middle East that is often missing from U.S. press covera
 ge. Her recently published book Against Our Better Judgment: How the U.S. 
 was used to create Israel is described by Israeli author and musician Gila
 d Atzmon as a book "every American should obtain\, read and discuss openly
 ." Senator James Abourezk said of it that it "documents a history that is 
 essential in understanding today’s world." Ms. Weir is a prominent natio
 nal speaker and author of many articles on Israel\, Palestine and U.S. pol
 icy in the Middle East\, including a recent article in Middle East Quarter
 ly on changing attitudes toward Israel among Christian Evangelicals over q
 uestions of Palestinian human rights.\n\nDr. Anat Maor is currently a visi
 ting scholar at Brooklyn College. She was a member of Israel’s Knesset\,
  the Israeli Congress\, for the Meretz Party from 1992–2003\, serving as
  Deputy Knesset Speaker and chair of the Science and Technology Committee 
 and the Sub-Committee for Women at Work and the Economy. Professor Maor ha
 s lectured on contemporary Israeli politics\, social and economic policies
  in Israel\, and gender studies at the Open University and Ruppin Academic
  Center in Israel. She has authored and edited several books\, including L
 egislation and Politics: The Success of Private Legislation in Israel\; Af
 firmative Action in Israel\; and The Rising Power: The Promotion of Women
