Mendocino Woodlands is located in a beautiful redwood forest near the California coast, inland from the town of Mendocino, 175 miles north of San Francisco. Our camp has 4-person enclosed cabins with fireplaces and balconies, and spacious dining and dance halls. If you prefer to tent, there is ample open space and of course, the woods provide their own pleasures.

A program covering a broad spectrum of music and dance traditions from this tremendously diverse geographical region. We urge you to take advantage of this opportunity and join us in a nurturing and informal environment.

REGISTRATIONS ARE ACCEPTED IN THE ORDER RECEIVED. CABINS ARE ASSIGNED ACCORDINGLY. IF THERE IS SPACE AVAILABLE, REGISTRATIONS ARE ACCEPTED UNTIL JULY 11.
***NOTE: You can simply show up and pay CASH at the Camp. We only take cash (NO checks or credit cards).
—> ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE: You can arrive any time after 4 PM on Saturday (11th of July) (we changed the time to avoid the traffic jam at the fist day). Saturday afternoon is for registration and getting settled
Find Gamze Guven to confirm your registration and to find where your cabin is. After unloading, all cars must be moved to designated parking areas. The last Saturday has no scheduled activities beyond breakfast; it’s for packing and saying good-byes. About breakfast — we’ll have cereal, milk, coffee and tea from 7:00am to 8:00am after which we have to completely close the kitchen, dining halls, etc. so we can be done cleaning by 11:00am… We have to vacate the premises by 8 AM. Because of limited parking (and to save gas), please car pool.
—> TRANSPORTATION: We can not arrange transportation for you but we can provide you a list of people participating in the camp from your area or from San Francisco Bay area (if you are flying in) so that you can try to make ride share arrangements. Please send an e mail to Joshkun Tamer to request the list or send a message to Gamze Guven on Facebook. Also please let us know if you can provide rides to other participants to and from the camp.
—> SCHOLARSHIP: Do you want to work with us to have scholarship? A few full and half work scholarship positions are available. Work scholarship program requires kitchen and general clean up duties. Half time scholarship position requires four hours, full time scholarship position requires six hours of work each day. To apply for this program please contact Roy Conant.

—> VENDING: Do you want to sell something at the Camp? Vending is allowed ONLY for those who are registered as Campers. There will be NO vending or attending of Camp unless you are registered! Vending is for participants. If you have items to sell, such as records, tapes, instruments, costumes, jewelry, etc. We will ask a 10% commission on your gross sales. —>CAMP EVENTS: Matt Wright is our Dance Band Coordinator for the evening dance parties following our evening concerts. An accomplished Middle Eastern musician and band director, Matt has attended camp for many years, recently as a member of the UCSB Middle East Ensemble, and has earned high praise as our Dance Band Coordinator for the last several years. If you would like to participate in one or more of these ensembles, please contact Matt as soon as possible letting him know your instrument(s), traditions in which you play, songs in your repertoire, and whether you sing.
