English for Heritage Language Speakers (EHLS) Offers Specialized English Instruction for Arab Americans
Improve Your Professional English Skills
English for Heritage Language Speakers (EHLS) is an intensive, university-based program that enables nonnative speakers of English to develop the language skills they need to succeed in professional positions in government and business.
The program involves 6 months of full-time study at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Participants improve their English through study of presentation skills, meeting participation, and business writing.
The program also provides support for participants as they seek employment with the federal government upon program completion. Scholarships are available for naturalized citizens in exchange for one year of federal service. EHLS is funded by the National Security Education Program.
EHLS is now recruiting applicants for the 2009 program year.
