Diversity Lottery Program for Immigrant Visas Now Available
Every year, the U.S. State Department’s Diversity Lottery (DV) Program makes 55,000 immigrant visas available through a lottery to people who come from countries with low rates of immigration to the United States. This congressionally-mandated lottery program is for those interested in receiving a U.S. Permanent Resident Card. The lottery’s recipients are issued a U.S. Green Card authorizing them and their families to live and work in the United States. The online entry registration period for the DV-2011 Diversity Visa lottery is now available online. The deadline to apply is Monday, November 30, 2009.
