Detroit Public Television Series “Arab American Stories” Seeks Composers and Musicians
We’d like to feature the music of Arab American musicians and composers in our new Public Television series, “Arab American Stories.”
The “Arab American Stories” public television series will air over weeks and will be disseminated nationally to public television affiliates in major U.S. markets. The series will be produced by Detroit Public Television, WTVS (PBS) and will explore many aspects of the Arab American community including, history, immigration, education, business, professions, arts, and culture.
If you are a composer or musician and can provide us with several cues our producers can use as source music for their short documentaries, we will be able to pay a nominal license fee of $200 when a cue is used for worldwide broadcast rights, streaming rights on the Arab American Stories website, and downloading rights of the program for educators.
We will also feature a special “Music” section on the series website where we will introduce the musicians who contributed to the series and provide brief biographical information and links to your websites or for purchase of your music (whatever you wish to provide). We also intend to highlight our “music collective” in press and outreach material for the series in an effort to introduce the mainstream public to a variety of Arab American musicians working in all genres.
If you are an Arab American composer or musician and would like to submit a music piece, please e-mail ryaha@arabdetroit.com
