Association and Communuty Leader Ed Deeb Honored At
Edward Deeb, chairman and founder of Michigan Food and Beverage Association and Michigan Business and Professional Association will be honored for his 50 years of being an association and community leader. The “Roast & Toast” event will take place on May 17, 2012 at Andiamo’s Banquet Center located at 7096 E. 14 Mile Road in Warren, Michigan. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. with a Silent Auction and dinner and the program will follow at 7:30 p.m.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Michigan Youth Appreciation Foundation which supports Metro Detroit Youth Day, The Prize Coalition Scholarship Program, and Project Hunger.
Our master of ceremony for the evening will be Paul W. Smith of WJR Radio. Roasters will include Carmen Harlan, L. Brooks Patterson, Carol Cain, Big Al of Purtan’s People, Mona Gualtieri, Lem Barney, Clarence Harvey, and others.
Deeb is the co-founder of Metro Detroit Youth Day which is held each July to inspire our youth to do the most good and become our future leaders. This year will be the 30th anniversary of this huge event which hosts more than 35,000 youngsters on Belle Isle.
He was also the driving force at historic Eastern Market to keep revitalizing this Detroit jewel. Deeb also co-founded the Friends of Eastern Market, the Eastern Market Corporation, and sits on its board.
Some other accomplishments include solving problems between store owners and residents, established the Women and Leadership in the Workplace Conference to honor prominent women leaders in our community, established Scouting for the Handicapped to allow mentally and physically challenged boys and girls to experience the scouting experience, just to name a few of his involvements.
