The Arab astronomers, Al-Battani, Al-Biruni and Umar Al-Khayyam are modern reminders of Arab contributions to astronomy with Arabic named stars; Acrab, Aldebaran, Algedi, Algul, Altair, Betelgeuse and Deneb and Arabic technical terms such as azimuth, nadir and zenith.
