Arabic Instructor Sought for Chicago College
Lake Forest College is seeking an Arabic Language Instructor to teach the first year of Arabic language: Arabic 110 in fall 2010 and Arabic 112 in spring 2011, one course per semester, plus advanced tutorials as needed.
Candidates must hold at least the Master’s degree in Arabic language or a related field. Teaching experience is preferred. The position will begin in August 2010 and interviews will be held this spring. Candidates should be comfortable using a
communicative and immersive teaching style, and structure courses to maximize development of speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills. The instructor will be a member of the Department of Modern Languages & Literatures, and will also
associate with faculty who teach courses within the
interdisciplinary minor of Islamic World Studies (which
includes the study of Arabic, history, religion, politics and varied courses across the curriculum).
