Arab American National Museum Introduces Debkeh Dance Classes
It’s easy to do, great exercise for all ages, and does NOT require a partner!
Learn the traditional folk dance of the Levant and other Arab World nations – the Debkeh, a dance of community often performed at weddings and other joyous occasions – at the Arab American National Museum in Dearborn.
Lessons will be taught by dancer/choreographer Suha Farhoud, former member of El-Funoun Popular Dance Troupe of Ramallah, Palestine.
Children’s Six-Week Session – Ages 8-13
February 24 – March 31, 2010
Wednesdays 5-5:30 p.m. & Sundays 1:30-2 p.m.
$85 registration fee
Adults Eight-Week Session – Ages 14 and up
February 28 – April 18, 2010
Sundays noon -1 p.m.
$100 registration fee
Minimum 10 registrants per session required. Fee will be refunded if minimum is not met by second class meeting February 28 (kids session) or March 7 (adults session).
No partner required; loose clothing and comfortable shoes recommended.
