Arab America Seeks Spring/Summer Interns in Washington, DC
Arab America (test.arabamerica.com) is a national for-profit organization (located in Washington, DC) founded with the purpose of promoting an accurate image about the Arab American community and the Arab world through the development of media, culture and education.
With over three and a half million Arab Americans in the U.S., Arab America’s primary mission is to unify the diverse and growing Arab American community and to act as a “bridge” between the diverse Arab American and non-Arab American communities.
Arab America achieves its mission via the test.arabamerica.com website, Facebook, Twitter, and other platforms promoting educational and cultural events, the latest news and information, cuisine, religious, cultural, social service organizations, commerce, and music.
Job Description:
● Posting content to website and keeping site and social media sites up to date
● Research and writing on news affecting Arab Americans, Arab American events around the country, and Arab culture
● Assisting in planning events through contacting vendors, developing budgets, and managing logistics
● Managing software and database as need arises.
Requirements:
● Applicants must be enrolled in college or have completed a college degree
● Ability to use Microsoft Office is a must
● Proficiency in planning and managing budgets is a plus
● Ability to speak Arabic is a plus
