ACCESS Honors Arab Americans of the Year at Detroit Event
A longtime host of a national radio show and a medical transplant pioneer are being honored as Arab Americans of the Year by a Michigan organization.
Host Diane Rehm and Dr. Marwan Abouljoud are scheduled to accept their awards this evening in Detroit at the annual dinner of ACCESS.
Rehm has hosted “The Diane Rehm Show” for 30 years. It’s broadcast from WAMU-FM in Washington, D.C., and distributed by National Public Radio.
Abouljoud is director of Henry Ford Hospital’s transplant institute.
ACCESS says the awards recognize those who help empower and engage Arab Americans.
Individual tickets are $100 for the dinner at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center.
The Dearborn-based group was founded as the Arab American Community Center for Economic and Social Services.
