ACCESS Announces Executive Board Change
The ACCESS Executive Board of Directors accepted Hussein Berry’s resignation as its president during its January 26 meeting in Dearborn. The Executive Board named its vice president, Wadad Abed, as the new board president. Hussein Berry will remain an active member of the board.
Abed, an independent strategic marketing consultant, has more than 25 years’ experience in strategic and operational marketing, supporting both industry and not-for-profit clients. In addition to her professional work, Abed is a board member of the University Musical Society (UMS) in Ann Arbor, where she helped launch the Arab World Music Festival to bring the voice of local Arab American artists to the community at large. As board president, she will bring energy and leadership to the organization and will aid in positioning ACCESS strategically.
During Berry’s term as board president, he worked diligently to reconnect ACCESS with the community and provided strong leadership. As ACCESS expanded with new facilities opening in Dearborn and Macomb County, Berry provided key support. ACCESS sincerely thanks Hussein Berry for his past and ongoing service and dedication.
