ACC Reaches Out to Local Refugee Families During the Holidays
The Arab American and Chaldean Council (ACC), in lieu of its staff and Board of Directors holiday party, is hosting a special Christmas dinner celebration on Thursday, December 18 in support of Iraqi refugee families who have recently arrived to the United States. The celebration will be held at 3:30pm at Oak Park High School.
ACC will be distributing Christmas gifts and school supplies to the needy refugee children that participate in the ACC after-school program at Oak Park High School.
“The council with its limited resources is proud to be able to provide some holiday cheer to the newly arrived refugees and their families,” said ACC President Haifa Fakhouri. ” ACC is happy to be working with Oak Park schools to provide after-school programs, ESL classes, citizenship education, and available resources to help refugees adjust to their new country.”
