AACC 20th Anniversary Gala A Resounding Success
The American Arab Chamber of Commerce (AACC) is pleased to announce the success of its landmark 20th Annual Building Economic Bridges Gala that was held on October 26th at the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center. The event, which hosted a sold out audience of over 1000 attendees, included an impressive line-up of distinguished speakers and guests.
Among these distinguished speakers, the Chamber was honored to host United Auto Workers (UAW) President Bob King, who gave the keynote address of the evening and discussed the current state of the economy and the importance of the UAW’s work.King is known for his activism and passionate beliefs in social and economic justice and has a longstanding history with the UAW, serving since 1970.
In addition to hosting Mr. King as the keynote speaker, the AACC also honored two accomplished individuals, who have also served as key contributors to economic growth, locally, nationally and internationally. Mr. J. John Antakli, President and CEO of INTRACO and Attorney Joumana Kayrouz, owner of the Michigan Center for Personal Injury and the Law Offices of Joumana Kayrouz, received the Economic Bridge Builder of the Year Award, for their commitment to excellence and leadership in their respective fields.
The event also paid homage to its founding and current board members, who have been instrumental to the Chamber’s growth and development over the last 20 years. During the program, the Chamber took the opportunity to recognize its Partners, Comerica, Ford Motor Company and DTE Energy, for their support of the event.
