Lebanese Emigration Research Center Internship Opportunities for Spring Semester 2011
LERC has recently opened new unpaid internship and research assistant positions in the following
field of studies:
Migration laws
Immigration, Human trafficking , clandestine, temporary labor
Refugees
Religion and migration
Naturalization
Minorities
Genealogy
Graphic design and publication
Internships are an excellent way to acquire valuable work experience and improve communication
and networking skills. They are a superb means to prepare a young graduate to enter the job market
and to begin to build up human and social capital.
The Lebanese Emigration Research Center at Notre Dame University-Louaizé in Lebanon provides
several unpaid graduate students’ internships, which are filled on the basis of current research needs
of the Center. LERC promotes the study of historical and contemporary emigration to, from, and
through Lebanon within a comparative international framework utilizing the most recent
information and communications technologies.
The internships usually last from three months to two years. Renewal of the internship is
contingent upon the consent of both parties and the performance of the intern or research assistant.
Local and international students from various universities and learning institutions are welcome to
apply by sending their curriculum vitae (CV) and a letter of intent/motivation in which the
candidate explains what he/she would like to accomplish during the internship and two letters of
