ACC Receives Grant from United Way for Learning Center
United Way for Southeastern Michigan awarded a grant of $250,000 to the Arab American and Chaldean Council (ACC) to support the development of its Artisian & Adult Learning and Training Center, Phase III of ACC’s Community and Neighborhood Development Initiative (CNDI). The center will be located at 55 W. Seven Mile, immediately east of ACC Detroit Headquarters.
Once completed the 13,000 square-foot building will house workspace for artists as well as a gallery area and a middle-eastern theme café on the first floor.
The second floor will accommodate an adult-learning center, computer lab, program offices, and conference room that will provide programs that promote achievement and increase individual well being.
ACC is the premier non-profit human service organization providing services to the Middle Eastern and mainstream communities in Southeast Michigan. As a bridge of understanding, ACC maximizes the skills, resources and expertise of the community to:
Build cooperation and understanding
Raise the level of individuals’ well-being
Increase cross-cultural understanding through education. Deliver human services, counseling and opportunities. Gear community members towards achievement. Empower through employment training and placement.
