Hollywood Producer and Director Asaad Kelada to Keynote the 9th Annual Images and Perceptions Diversity Conference
On Thursday, December 6, 2012, will present Images and Perceptions Diversity Conference in Partnership with the Governor’s Office of the State of Illinois, New Americans Office of Policy and Advocacy, Mayor’s Office of Chicago, City Colleges of Chicago, University of Chicago, U of C Center for Middle-Eastern Studies, NAACP, and LA SED at the magnificent Alhambra Palace in Downtown Chicago, from 8:30 AM– 4:30 PM.
Hollywood Producer and Director, Asaad Kelada (“Two and a Half Men,” Dharma & Greg,” Who’s the Boss,” “One Day at a Time,” “Facts of Life,” “Family Ties,” “Sister Sister,” “Everybody Loves Raymond,” and “The Office”), will address the images Hollywood and the media portray, and present a rare view directly into the casting lens, along with an inside track of Hollywood’s depiction of our communities.

Reverend Dr. Wendell Anthony: National and local award winner and President of the NAACP Detroit Branch, Reverend Anthony has been one of the most influential voices in dispelling stereotypes and building bridges of justice, common ground, and equality.
Guadalupe Lara: Motivational/diversity speaker on inclusion, and conflict resolution from a strengths perspective and member volunteer at LA SED.
Rola Nashef: Detroit based Owner of Gas Afterhours Productions; Nashef has been filming, directing and producing films in Detroit since 2005. She is the Writer, Producer and Director of the upcoming, summer of 2012, debut of Detroit Unleaded.
Mike Batayeh: Comedian and star of Film and TV. (Don’t Mess with the Zohan; Everybody Loves Raymond, The Jay Leno Show, Fox’s Touch series, Breaking Bad and more.)
Siham Awada Jaafar: Co-Founder and Producer of Image and Perceptions of Arab Americans Diversity Conference, Principal Partner at 3D Consulting and Communications and host of “Community Connection” weekly television program broadcast over Comcast Cable.
Nadia Fadel-Bazzi, JD: Co-Producer, Images and Perceptions of Arab Americans Diversity Conference, and Principal Partner at 3D Consulting & Communications.
The Conference line-up will feature Guest Speaker, internationally renowned Washington DC’s Global South Professor, Ambassador Dr. Clovis Maksoud, and distinguished Professor John Woods, PhD, of the University of Chicago, who will share a unique and thought provoking presentation on the evolution of images in the media. The University of Chicago will offer 5 CDPU credits to eligible registrants.
