Professionals Mixer Brings Lebanese Together

The Lebanese American Heritage Club (LAHC) and the Lebanese Collegiate Network (LCN) held a professionals mixer on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at the BlackFinn Restaurant and Saloon in Royal Oak, Michigan.

Over 150 people attended the event which brought together professionals of all ages, creeds and nationalities in order to promote networking and social activities for professionals in the Lebanese and greater community. Guests included students, professionals, media outlets, and sponsors who were greeted by LAHC and LCN Directors and Board Members.

The event featured a wide range of raffle items, including tickets to the upcoming LAHC Arab American Scholarship Foundation Gala on May 7, 2010, tickets to the upcoming LCN Fundraiser, a $250 voucher for four people to enjoy an evening at Lebanese Nights at Lapita Restaurant in Dearborn, and business cards donated by CheckBox Graphics, among other prizes.

Wassim Mahfouz, Executive Director of the LAHC and Serge Haddad, President of the LCN delivered brief remarks, welcoming guests to the gathering, the first networking event held by the LCN in Michigan. The event was co-sponsored by MA Engineering, OneCare Pharmacy and the Law Offices of Laurie A. Tannous.

“It is important that organizations such as the LAHC and LCN join together to bring such events to the greater community,” states Mahfouz of the LAHC. “Over the last 27 years, the LAHC has worked diligently to promote education and socialization among our youth to ensure they have every opportunity of meeting, networking, and learning from one another to further advance the community and its initiatives. The LAHC is proud of the LCN and their efforts to promote networking and such activities among young professionals. They are the future of our community and are the legacy of Lebanese in America.”

Special guests included Consul General of Lebanon, His Excellency Mr. Bachir Tawk, and Miss Michigan, Lebanese American Rima Fakih. LCN representatives traveled from California to attend while MEA TV and Radio, along with Arab Detroit covered the event.
