ACCESS and ARC Volunteers Honor Martin Luther King Jr. with Service Project

posted on: Jan 12, 2010

About 60 volunteers from ACCESS and the Arab American Resource Corps (ARC) will uphold Martin Luther King, Jr.’s commitment to service by spending Monday, January 18 sorting and packing food at the Gleaners Community Food Banks in Detroit and Taylor. Gleaners is a nonprofit agency formed in 1977 that distributes more than 28 million pounds of food annually to residents of southeast Michigan. ACCESS and ARC are excited to take part in such a worthwhile project.

ARC is a group of 75 AmeriCorps volunteers who spend at least a year serving at Arab American community organizations throughout the nation. All ARC volunteers will donate their time on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day to community service. To learn more about ARC, visit the National Network for Arab American Communities at www.nnaac.org.
