As a bona fide headliner, MO AMER has already cemented his stature as a pioneer of Arab-American standup, a truly original voice in comedy today.Dave Chappelle regularly invites him to tour as his opening act, which Mo is able to do while he is not touring the world himself. Mo hilariously reveals his life’s curious tale, including how he managed to travel the world without a passport, was held at gunpoint by an American soldier in Iraq, and once had Bradley Cooper (unintentionally) save him from a sticky situation in Kuwait. Mo has performed in over two dozen countries on five continents––including as the first and only Arab-American refugee comic to perform for U.S. and coalition troops overseas, as well as with “Allah Made Me Funny––The Official Muslim Comedy Tour.”

Mo has also co-written an original screenplay, and is presently in development on his first solo comedy special, working with long-time standup collaborator Azhar Usman, through their jointly owned production entity, KALIJAGA MEDIA LLC.

BIO: Azhar Usman // Azhar Usman

He is the co-founder of the wildly popular “ Allah Made Me Funny—Official Muslim Comedy Tour,” which has toured over 20 countries (on Earth). He has appeared on radio and television dozens of times as well as in a handful of indie films. He is proud of his accomplishments, but not too proud to see that this bio is a ridiculous series of exaggerations, especially since he knows that the following phenomena really do exist: Hubble Ultra Deep Field; micro-sculptor Willard Wigan; Integral Traditionalism; Thaumaturgical Teleportation; Neurolingistics; and T.J. Winter (a living, spiritual re-incarnation of al-Ghazali). He adds: “Seriously, just Google them.” Azhar is a language maven, Googaholic, Wikipaddict, and avid fan of Dictionary.com’s “Word of the Day” mailing list.

BIO: Sammy Obeid
Lebanese-Palestinian-Syrian-Italian-American, born in Oakland, California, Sammy Obeid is best known for his 1,001 day streak of consecutive comedy performances. It began on December 26th, 2010, and concluded on September 21st, 2013– four days after an appearance on TBS’s Conan. Over the course of the streak, he appeared on NBC’s America’s Got Talent and advanced to the Las Vegas round, and became the first comedian to perform on The Food Network. Splitsider conducted an extensive interview with him entering the home stretch. LA Weekly praised Sammy’s “sheer force of will” in performance and lifestyle, and LA Mag recommended his show highly. He was profiled in TIME Magazine, followed soon after by an article in the New York Times. Published on his final day, it describes his material as “full of wordplay” and “clever misdirection.”

Chunks of his streak were spent as youngest member of both the CoExist Comedy and Axis of Evil: New Generation national tours. Capping the streak, his debut album, Get Funny or Die Trying, was named a Best Comedy Album of 2013 by iTunes. Not slowed, Sammy has now embarked on a national college tour performing for hundreds of students a week.
