Join the Middle Eastern Student Association at Loyola University Chicago on March 26 at 7 pm for a film screening of the film Sing Freedom and a lecture from Khaled M himself! The event will be held in Damen Cinema, located in Damen Student Center on 6511 N Sheridan Rd., Chicago, IL.

After a significant rise in worldwide popularity over the last few years, independent recording artist and activist Khaled M is gearing up for more this Spring as he begins speaking and performing at colleges and universities across the nation!

Khaled M is a Chicago-based Libyan-American hip hop artist was born into the struggle. The reigning Chicago Urban Music Awards “Lyricist of the Year” has been featured in RollingStone Magazine, Complex Mag, CNN, ABC WorldNews, Life + Times, Yahoo! Entertainment, BBC and more. With a story fit for a Hollywood script, a loyal international fan base and a live show se!ing stages ablaze, it’s no wonder he was listed as one of CNN’s “Most Interesting People.”

Recently, Khaled M has was featured in Sing Freedom, a ten-part (episode) documentary series about the musical scene that emerged from the Arab Spring movement across the Middle East and North Africa. Filming took place in more than 15 cities around the world. In the one episode, the filmmakers follow Khaled M’s emotional journey in returning to his homeland of Libya after the popular uprisings and subsequent fall of Muammer Gaddafi. There are currently many screenings of this film scheduled at several colleges and universities, in which Khaled M comes for discussion following the film.
