Life in Occupied Palestine: BDS and the Stakes of Life Narratives
CALIFORNIA
The struggle for justice in Palestine is often told most effectively through the life narratives of Palestinians themselves.
Join Cynthia Franklin and Magid Shihade as they discuss their participation in the special Biography issue, “LIFE IN OCCUPIED PALESTINE” in relation to their work for Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS).
Franklin and Shihade will make the case for the academic and cultural boycott of Israel as part of the international movement in solidarity with Palestine.
Cynthia Franklin is a Professor of English at the University of Hawaii and co-editor of Biography.
Magid Shihade is a faculty member at the Institute of International Studies, Birzeit University, Palestine, and a Visiting Fellow at the Middle East / South Asia Program at the University of California, Davis.
