On March 18th 2011, the first major protests in Syria took place in the Southern City of Daraa, the birthplace of the Syrian Revolution. In commemoration of the anniversary of the Syrian Revolution, Promise for Relief and Human Development will be hosting a “Back to the Beginning” tour around America reviving our commitment to help those in need in Syria. This tour will feature numerous high profile activists and doctors coming directly from the most dangerous areas in Syria just to speak to YOU.

CONFIRMED GUESTS:
Abdulrahman Akrad, a renown Orthopedic Surgeon who has extensive experience in his field. He was one of the first surgeons to risk his life and volunteer in a field hospital and help those in need. Dr. Akrad could have continued living his life comfortably and separated himself from the revolution, but rather he was willing to sacrifice for the sake of helping. He has lost his home, his job, and literally almost everything for the sake of the revolution.
Syrian Actor and Intellectual Abdulhakim Qteifan, played a major role in the movie, “The NIGHT of the FALL – ليلة السقوط”. Qteifan is a well known activist and staunch supporter of the Syrian Revolution.

Muhammad Akrad was one the 15 children who sprayed painted Anti-Regime slogans on the school walls in Daraa City to spark the Syrian Revolution. He was later detained by regime forces, tortured, and has been released since. Ayman’s bravery reshaped history and we will get to hear the story of how the Syrian Revolution started directly from him.
Syrian TV STAR Mai Skaf is one of the earliest Syrian celebrities to speak out against Bashar Assad. Mai Skaf is a heroine of the revolution and risked her life to take part in anti regime protests early in the revolution. Her sacrifice cost her dearly and has caused her since to live in exile in Jordan. She is well known for role in the films “Sahil Al-Jihat” and “Dimashq ya basmat al-huzn”. (https://www.yahoo.com/
Dr. Taiser Al-Zouabi, head of the Museifra Field Hospital, one of the premier field Hospitals in Southern Syria. Dr. Taiser is the general surgeon who performed the autopsy on Hamza Al-Khateeb, the 13 year old boy who died under torture early in the revolution and sparked worldwide outrage. Dr. Taiser is LEAVING the people in need in Syria JUST to speak to us.
Dr. Youssef Barakat, one of the first doctors to risk his life to volunteer in the field hospitals in Syria in the beginning of the revolution. Dr. Barakat is a Urologist who has accomplished amazing tasks, including completing 18 surgeries in ONE DAY at one point. Dr. Barakat also helps aid the Ahmad Mass Sy
