The Archives of Traditional Music Noon Concert/Lecture Series presents a concert showcasing music popularized by Umm Kulthum, Fairouz, Zaki Nassif, Sabah Fakhri, and others. Felfel will take you on a journey through love, whether unrequited, impossible, or burning with passion. Featuring songs in Arabic and Turkish, Felfel will perform music from Andalusia, Turkey, Lebanon, Syria, and Egypt. This concert will celebrate romantic, patriotic, and familial love. Come join us and experience the poetry of the heart.
About the performers:
Felfel (the Arabic word for “pepper”) is a small ensemble specializing in music of the Middle East founded by Tiffany Schoneboom(‘ud, guitar) and Mario Trogolo (voice). Including: Alice Corey (cello), Allie Martin (violin), Shaun Williams (accordian, riqq), Robert Widlowski (bass), and featuring Tim Moore (percussion), Safak Kilictepe (voice), and Serdar Abaci (saz).
