American Palestinian Women’s Association Holding School Supplies Drive for Children of Gaza
The American Palestinian Women’s Association is organization a School Supplies Drive for children in Gaza, Palestine in Washington D.C on August 14 through September 1st.
The objective is to provide school supplies to 300 students in elementary, middle, and high school for the upcoming school year. Be it a backpack to carry books, pencils and crayons to write and draw, notebooks to do their homework- each donation item will bring a little bit of joy, and help them meet their educational obligation.
Gaza children and their families have been subjected to immense suffering—your generous gift will let them know we care.
Requested donations include: backpacks and pencil cases, pens, pencils, colored pencils, crayons, highlighters, markers, erasers, sharpeners, glue, calculators, scissors, rulers, binders, folders, dividers, notebooks.
The drive will take place at St. Alban’s Church in the Rector’s House screened in porch across from the Bishop’s Garden at the National Cathedral. The address is 3001 Wisconsin Avenue NW.
All donations should be marked “APWA School Supplies Drive” and include a list of contents in order for it to pass security checks by the Israeli authorities. In addition, please email Dina at apwadn@gmail.com with the list of contents and the date you dropped off your package. Feel free to add a personal note for the children as well.
