Join the Women’s Mosque of America, USC Office of Religious Life, and USC Muslim Student Union for a free screening of award-winning documentary THE LIGHT IN HER EYES followed by a panel discussion about women’s mosques around the world on the evening of Friday, March 27th, 2015 at USC Taper Hall (THH) 301, from 7-9:30pm. This event is open to men and women of all faiths and no RSVP is required. Doors open at 6:45pm. **Maghrib prayer services will be held inside the screening room immediately before the movie.

Following the screening, filmmaker Julia Meltzer will join a panel to explore the impact of women’s mosques and religious spaces around the world, the commonalities that these spaces share, as well as the ways in which each women’s mosque has its own distinct set of practices based on the unique culture, history, and politics within each country. The panel will feature both experts and visitors who will discuss the women’s mosques, madrassas, and musallahs in Syria, China, and Yemen.
