Arab American Women’s Business Council Accepting Scholarship Applications Through October 23rd
DEARBORN, MI, May 15, 2015 – The Arab American Women’s Business Council (AAWBC) is accepting scholarship applications from Arab American female college students and high school students in Michigan who have been accepted to college. The deadline is October 23, 2015. Since the program began in 2008, the AAWBC has provided more than $20,000 in scholarships to young Arab American women studying a variety of subjects to assist them in advancing their education.
Elvana Hammoud, chair of the Scholarship Committee, said, “The AAWBC believes strongly that a college education is key to professional and business success for Arab American women. Many Arab American women face barriers to pursuing a college degree, financial and cultural. The mission of the AAWBC is to advance Arab American women in their business and profession. This scholarship program is our way of encouraging Arab American women to pursue their dreams. We will award five $1,000 scholarships in 2015.”
